That’s a wrap on the 2025-2026 school year!

As the buses pull away and another school year comes to a close, we want to thank our students, staff, and families for making this year one to remember.

Last day of school

On June 12, members of the Bloomfield High School Class of 2026 took part in the annual Senior Parade, visiting schools across the district and inspiring the next generation of Bloomfield students.

From excited cheers in the hallways to heartfelt reunions with former teachers, the day was filled with pride, memories, and celebration as seniors reflected on how far they have come before graduation on June 16.

Celebrating Excellence in Bloomfield Public Schools!

Today, we proudly honored the dedicated staff members who make a difference in the lives of our students every day at our annual Education Celebration. We recognized milestone years of service, retirees, Teachers of the Year, and our inaugural Paraeducators of the Year and Extraordinary Service Award recipients.

Thank you to all of our honorees for your commitment, passion, and service to the Bloomfield community. Special thanks to our JROTC Cadets, student performers, the Vo-Ag Center, and our Food Services Department for helping make this celebration so memorable. We also extend our gratitude to the Town of Bloomfield for its continued partnership and for presenting commemorative town coins to our honorees in recognition of their dedicated service to the community.

Thank you to the Bloomfield Police Department, Fire Department and Volunteer Ambulance Service, for bringing a fire engine, ambulance, police car and service dog for our students to explore firsthand.

Congratulations to Miss Lombardo and Mrs. Pearl's classrooms for hosting an art show for their families. This show was the culmination and celebration of the study of 12 different artists. Artist inspired artwork was displayed throughout both classrooms for viewing.

Last night, Wintonbury welcome families to Math Night. One activity included a life sized board game., in which the children were the game pieces. After landing , they completed the math task indicated on the spot, such as count to 10, or make a clap/stomp pattern.

Today we welcomed Steve Roslonek of Steve's Songs to Wintonbury! Steve is an award winning, nationally known artist who creates interactive, musical experiences for children and families. Thank you to the Wintonbury PTO for sponsoring this concert for our students.

Today students participated in a Hop-a-Thon which raises money for Muscular Dystrophy. This is an annual event done in memory of a former Wintonbury student. Students hopped and danced to the song Golden.

Happy Earth Day from Wintonbury! Each child today planted a sunflower seed into a milk carton recycled from school lunches. We look forward to watching our seeds sprout and grow!

As part of Wintonbury's celebration of Black History Month, students in Mrs. Hein's (201) classroom learned about businessman Augustus Jackson. He was a baker and ice cream maker from Philadelphia and is credited with creating the modern way ice cream is made. As part of the study students made ice cream - and ate it of course!

Wintonbury students celebrated "Friendship Day" today and exchanged valentines. In Mrs. Mancini's class (Room 206), students made cards and bracelets. Additionally, classrooms enjoyed many heart inspired art and activities.

As part of Wintonbury's Black History Month Celebration, students in Room 303 read about Mae Carol Jemison who is an American engineer, doctor and former NASA astronaut. She made history by becoming the first Black woman to travel into space. Students designed a rocket ship in their dramatic play area and enjoy "traveling in space".

Yesterday, Wintonbury held its annual KINDNESS DAY in which kindness is celebrated! Throughout the building, classrooms did something special for another classroom or staff member. Our families participated by sending in hearts describing how their child or family shows kindness to others.
