BHS students explain the importance of reading to students at Metacomet Elementary School. Many of our students were once students at Metacomet and returned as high school students to visit teachers and read to the students as part of BPS Literacy Week 2024.
Mr. Prescott, BHS' School to Career Specialist, introduces student readers to the audience at Seabury. Students from BHS visited both Seabury and Duncaster this week to read to their residents as part of Bloomfield Public Schools' Literacy Week.
This week BHS students have been participating in Read Across America as part of the districts Literacy Week Celebration. Students have been reading all over Bloomfield: Metacomet Elementary School, Laurel Literacy Academy, Duncaster and Seabury. Congratulations to the Boys Basketball Team on their 88-73 victory over Wilton High School last night in the 2nd Round of the Tier II State Tournament! Course Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is currently taking place! Students are conferencing with their school counselor in their English classes and individually. Congratulations to BHS' Girls Track Team on their performances at the New England Championship this past Saturday. The 4x2 Relay of Jahniya Barclay, Sianna Lloyd, Nacquelia Fletcher, and Saphyr Brown placed 1st. The 4x4 Relay of Nacquelia Fletcher, Kiylah Williams, Indya Norman, and Jahniya Barclay placed 6th. Saphyr Brown placed 4th in the Long Jump.
This is just a reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences will be held this week on March 6-7, 2024. There will be afternoon sessions on both days from 12:45 - 2:50 p.m. and an evening session on March 7th from 5:00-7:30 p.m. Instructions on how to register for conferences via My Conference Time can be found by clicking on the link below. Please register for a conference time, prior to the start of conferences. Conference times are 10 minutes in length and we encourage you to visit with all or some of your child's teachers. These will be the last conferences for this school year.

This week Bloomfield High School student-athletes participated in Read Across Connecticut at Carmen Arace Middle School. This weeklong celebration of literacy is to encourage hundreds of middle school students at Carmen Arace to pick up a book and read. BHS student-athletes answered questions from students and talked about their high school experiences.
